About Airpoint

Airpoint specialises in providing tailored mobile solutions that deliver maximum efficiency for distributed workforces.  The solutions are secure and easy-to-use, making mobile computing a practical reality.

Mobility is an ideal way of freeing up an organisation's staff time to deliver more and better quality of service, whether this is in the public or private sector.  Specialist packages or bespoke solutions from Airpoint can increase efficiency and provide enormous return on investment, by meeting the mobility needs of your company.

If you require a custom solution, our approach to development is based on rapid prototyping in which we interpret your requirements.  Then, by an iterative process, use your feedback to refine the product to match your needs.  The end result is a solution that satisfies your business objectives.

Our priority is to provide the best solutions for the customer.  In order to achieve this, Airpoint may enlist the expertise of our partner companies.  However, Airpoint remains fully independent of network carriers and other suppliers.

Airpoint is a UK-based company, headquartered in Leicestershire, with a dedicated development centre in Glasgow and a regional office in Oxfordshire.

 A little history …

Airpoint was formed in 2003, developing products for the emerging mobile computing industry.  Early products were focused on mobilising the collection of customer and prospect data which has previously been collected in paper format.  As the NPIA was formed, Airpoint started to develop applications for police forces with a rapid implementation cycle.  Expertise in the police sector was developed and the Mobile Policing Suite (MPS) was born.  At the same time, a number of other products were developed and sold to other public and private sector clients.

The decision to focus delivery of Airpoint’s applications on the Blackberry platform was made mainly on the extraordinary security embedded in each device.  Blackberry has been awarded a Communication Electronic Security Group’s (CESG) certification to transmit, receive and store restricted level data.  The Windows PDA platform has yet to achieve such level of security, and Airpoint is currently researching ways of securing the platform so that the solutions can be ported and safely used in a mobile environment.
